Turntables

DJ Hero 2

DJ hero 2 will it change the game?

I tried it at a local game shop and i was disappointed at how little control you had over the track and everything was a little too pre-mixed.
DJ Hero 2′s promise of 2 turntables could be a break thru right? but then they are adding a microphone… aghh!

Tasty Tunes

LOL!! that is all.

  • 5x DMC World Champion DJ Craze takes things to the next level in this new turntablism routine, using Traktor Scratch Pro and the Kontrol X1 controller. Using the X1, Craze simultaneously triggers cue points on both decks, while still staying true to his roots with some serious beatjuggling.

By combining traditional vinyl techniques like juggling, scratching and body tricks with advanced controller-based functions such as cue point manipulation, tempo-synced effects and ultra-quick track changes, this performance showcases the cutting edge of turntablism and controllerism using the latest digital DJing technology.

    Traktor Vs. Serato

two heavy weights go toe to toe

“Everyone wants to know the deal about what to get: Traktor Scratch Pro or Serato Scratch Live! Hard core vinyl addict here, Dj Q-Bert using both side by side in a quick demo for you just to see yourself, and how they both compare to the precision of a real record (on the other side of that Traktor record is an analog recording of a remixed Superseal)”

  • Art of Wax!

    Alpine Symphony
Hardware Gallery in Sydney has an exhibition of artworks featuring Vinyl records, perfect for the studio :

“Vinyl is being taken off its dusty shelves and given a new lease on life at Hardware Gallery’s new exhibition, Medium: Vinyl, where it will further prove that its revival as a tool for inspiration is imminent. Paying respect to music and art’s enduring relationship, 150 artworks have been created on vinyl “canvases” and will be specially  curated into one of our largest events all year.

In the spirit of true celebration, the exhibition will also include a vinyl market, where crates of used records will be available for sale. There will be turntables for both prospective purchasers and for the DJs gracing the decks, who will be performing on the opening and closing nights of the exhibition as well as our second Sound Series event, held on May 28.

Medium: Vinyl will open on May 21 and will run until June 12. Just as print will never truly be dead, nor will the iconic vinyl record.”
